Recycle or Donate Old Phones
By next year, some experts estimate that there will
be as many as 150 million cell phones in the United States alone.
With most people upgrading their phones on a regular basis, this
means that there are many phones which go unused and often discarded.
Phones which are discarded often end up in landfills, where chemicals
with high toxicity seep out of the phone and phone battery and into
the soil and water. To prevent pollution and waste, many groups
are offering cell phone recycling programs for old phones. These
cell phones can be refurbished and resold or donated to various
charity groups. |
